P6: Identify channels and platforms used for the new product
There are several potential distribution platforms that I could use for this app. The app is intended to be a mobile application, and as such would be best on stores that are popular on mobile devices.
App store and Google play:
By far the most popular platforms for mobile app distribution are apple's "App store" and Google's "Play store." These two platforms represent the two largest markets in the mobile market; Apple Iphones and phones running android e.g. Samsung, Huawei, etc. and are available and even pre-installed on these devices for users to shop on. Having your app on these stores, especially on the App store as it is renowned for it's quality control, will immediately have it reach a wide audience and be trusted as a safe and non-malicious app. Apple's App store charges a fee of $99/year to host an app on their app store, and Google has a $25 one time fee to host on their store. This is much lower but apple's store is more trusted and exclusive, hence/due to the higher cost. Website: Another potential platform that I could use to distribute this app would be through a custom made website. This can be done for free through a website creation tool such as Weebly or WIX. This method isn't as effective at reaching new audiences, but gives those who don't use the previously mentioned platforms to download the app. It also allows an opportunity to present the app in the way that I want to outside of the format of the app stores. The "MyFitnessPal" web page is displayed on the right to give an example of this. |
P7: Create a project proposal document for the new product
Here is the proposal document I have written up outlining the ideas and content behind my app, as well as detailing information on marketing, the team required, etc.
This document is vitally important as it is a document that I will be providing to potential investors when I present the idea to them. The presentation and pitch work hand in hand, and are very important to potentially gaining investors for the project.

Presenting to the client
Having created the proposal document for my project, I now need to prepare to present the idea to the client. I will need to make this presentation informative and address all of the key aspects outlined in my proposal. It also needs to be entertaining or at the very least engaging enough to keep the clients interested.
Here is a basic structure of how my presentation will go:
