P2: Generate Ideas for a new interactive product to a client brief
P3: Produce a plan for the creation of the interactive media product from the generated ideas
Generating Ideas
The website that I will be creating will be a promotional site for a band. This website will require several features, such as discography info, Tour info, a media section for videos and other content, a shop section to sell merch etc.
Here, to help inform my decisions in terms of the website content and layout, I have researched and documented how other websites with a similar purpose are laid out and what content they include. For this particular task I chose www.chanceraps.com, as it is a similar website designed to promote and sell an artists products.
Here is a basic site structure diagram that I drew up to visualise the layout of this website:

During this research, I noted down elements of content and layout that I wanted to use in my website, so I took some post-it notes and roughly wrote down the different navigation sections that I wanted, and a quick list of what I could potentially put in these sections. This is displayed below:
As you can see, I included many multimedia and interactive ideas here which I thought were crucial to the success of this site, e.g videos, music, a shop, etc.
Site Structure Diagram
After studying other websites, and generating my own ideas for the kinds of sections I wanted to include in my website, I devised a simple site structure diagram for my own website. This is a clear way of representing the layout of the website so that the fundamental sections of the site are all included, as well as giving a general idea of the flow of my website from section to section:
The dotted black arrows in this diagram show how the different pages of my web site link in to each other, which will be how users navigate around the site. The boxed sections are the sections of the website that can be visited, and will also appear as navigational elements at the top of the home page so that it is easy and clear to navigate.
The red drawn arrows are the ways that my site links to other websites. These links to other websites are crucial for the websites success, as it creates user interactivity and traffic to and from the website. Particularly, links to social media sites are important as they allow for a great level of audience interactivity, which will not only make the site more engaging, but will also encourage users to promote it, resulting in free viral advertising.
These links also include links to the bands music streaming platforms, ticket sales sites and YouTube pages. This will increase traffic towards these sources, earning the band more streams on their music, more views on their YouTube and more overall success, which will in turn increase traffic to the website.

Scheduling plan
Here I will include a scheduling plan for the production of my website in the form of a Gantt chart, as this is simple and easy to follow whilst ensuring that tasks are completed to a schedule:
Resources required:
- Laptop
- Website editing programme (Potentially Wix.com or weebly.com)
- Phone for checking layout of site on mobile devices
