P4: Produce a plan for the structure and content of an original radio programme
Here I will be planning the production of my own short radio show. We were given several briefs to adhere to for this project. This is the brief that I chose:
I have chosen this production brief as I feel it will allow me to practise my live production skills. I also feel as though this brief allows me to bring in a diverse group of people with differing opinions into my project in order to create a compelling product. The topic that I have decided to focus on for this project is religion; more specifically does religion have a place in modern society.

Scheduling:
Below is a programme clock that I have create. This gives a rough outline of the content of my show and the running order of everything within it:
Here I will also include a Gantt chart to give an idea of overall scheduling for this project:
Budgeting:
In terms of budgeting there are a few factors that I must consider:
- Studio renting: Renting a high end audio recording studio averages at around £100 per hour of use. As this project is intended to be half an hour long, the cost should be roughly £50. As I have permission to use the Oakes Media Studio I will instead be using this, as I can use this studio for free due to being an Oakes Media Student.
- Presenter: As I am presenting this radio show, this will cost nothing to the production. The average pay for a radio producer is £10/hour so if I were to hire a producer for this show I would pay this rate
- Contributors: These contributors are guests and come onto the radio show for free, so will not cost the production anything.
- Editing: The editing of this project will be minimal as it simply needs to be broadcast live
- Music Licensing: I am not sure of the cost of the broadcasting license as this varies, but it can be bought through the PRS/PPL website.
Risk Assessment:
Here I have created a risk assessment in order to bring light to hazards and prevent risks to myself and my crew:

Questions to follow for show:
- Does religion still have value in a modern society?
- IVF ethical?
- does religion have a place in law e.g. abortion
- Can we have an ethical society without religion
